Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
"The most exciting Tour de France of all time.""This is a must-have DVD for anyone who's even remotely interested in bicycle racing."Those who saw it -- either from a vantage point on the Champs-Elysees or on television -- will never forget counting down the seconds as Laurent Fignon sprinted in vain to the finish line in the final time trial in Paris. LeMond had been at death's door after a shooting accident early in 1987 and was riding in his first Tour since winning in 1986.After an incredible three weeks that saw the maillot jaune switch between the American and Frenchman, LeMond trailed Fignon by 50 seconds overall going into the final time trial in Paris. No one gave him much chance of clawing back that time in just 24.5 kilometers, but the new triathlon-style handlebars were a distinct advantage as he beat Fignon by 58 seconds. After 3,285 kilometers of racing, a mere eight seconds separated the two men overall. It doesn't get better than that!"Nothing like this has ever been available before to US audiences. The video of the 1989 Tour is nothing short of phenomenal." - VeloNews."Magnificent! This is how cycling should be presented." - The Washington Times.

5 out of 5 stars Duel Under The Sun   October 30, 2008
There are a few moments in sports that are iconic in stature and this incredible duel between Greg LeMond and Laurent Fignon is one of those timeless events.

A duel between the two riders came down to the final stage, a 24.5k individual time trial, with Fignon holding a solid lead of 50 seconds and having the advantage of knowing LeMond's course splits throughout his short trek. What LeMond accomplished that day to capture the race victory - after a shooting accident the year before nearly cost him his life - is breathtaking in scope.

The edited coverage of each stage is impressive and the focus on this battle under the sun is special. Two athletes are at the peak of their powers and eight precious seconds separated them from either savoring victory or suffering a devastating defeat on the streets of Paris.
